PHOTOGRAPHY: EMOTION AND TECHNIQUE IN THE AGE OF TECHNOLOGICAL TRANSFORMATION
Room: Romanti Cultura
Data: 29 March
Hour: 4:30pm
Since its invention, photography has been a medium that transcends simply recording what is real. It is an art that combines emotion and technique, allowing the photographer to capture ephemeral moments and transform them into timeless visual stories.
At the ‘heart’ of photography is emotion: the sensitive eye that interprets light, shadows and details. It's the ability to freeze feelings, convey messages and reveal dimensions invisible to the ordinary eye. However, this magic is only possible thanks to technical mastery. The choice of equipment, the configuration of parameters and visual composition are tools that the photographer uses to translate emotion into an image.
With technological advances, photography has undergone a revolution. The arrival of digital cameras, smartphones and artificial intelligence has democratised access to photography, giving anyone the power to create. However, this democratisation has also brought challenges: the excess of images, in some cases, can dilute the meaning of photographic creation. Here, technique ceases to be just a support and becomes the ‘key’ that allows the photographer to highlight their vision beyond the visual noise?
Today, technology not only helps, but also redefines what is possible. Advanced editing tools, augmented reality and artificial intelligence push the boundaries of photographic expression. However, it is essential to remember that the essence of photography still lies in the human connection. Technology is an ally, but it can never replace the photographer's unique eye and ability to move.
In this talk, we'll explore how to balance this duality - emotion and technique - and how technology can be used to enhance, rather than replace, artistic sensitivity in the world of photography.
